Del Negro to Coach Clippers

After an extensive coaching search during which the team only really interviewed two guys, the LA Clippers today hired Vinny Del Negro as their head coach. Del Negro follows a long line of successful coaches like Mike Dunleavy, Chris Ford, Bob Weiss, and Mike Schuler. I'm going to try to keep my sarcasm to a minimum here. Someday, I think Vinny Del Negro will be a quality NBA coach. That day, however, is not today. He was one of the most under qualified coaches in the league last year with Chicago and will be once again this year with the Clippers. He had no control over the Bulls, no idea how to manage his players or rotations, and displayed very little X's-and-O's knowledge. He even got into a fight with GM John Paxton. Truthfully, Del Negro just isn't ready to be a head coach. He needs more seasoning, more time on the bench of a veteran coach. So...

OF COURSE THE CLIPPERS PICKED HIM!!!

Are you kidding me?! What better way for the laughing stock of the entire American sporting community to continue their long standing tradition of sucking than to bring in a coach who has no business being a head coach?! It's like owner Donald Sterling gets off on the suffering of his team's fanbase the way Emporer Palpatine feeds off the anger of Luke Skywalker. I feel genuine sorrow for the Clipper fans. Every single time they start to find a reason to get excited about their team, something awful happens to knock them back down to reality. And Sterling loves it! A volatile team, led by a volatile star in Baron Davis, will turn on Del Negro by December. And like almost all Clipper coaches, Del Negro will back on the job market within two years.
