Continuing their value shopping, the New Jersey Nets signed swingman Anthony Morrow (number 43 on the Big Board) to a 3 year, $12 million contract. Morrow is a lights out shooter (46% on 3s last year) whose stats were probably inflated in Golden State. He's young and fairly athletic and provides New Jersey with yet another nice piece to work with. I personally love the offseason the Nets are having so far. They struck out on the big names but the truth is, they need perhaps 4 or 5 players, not one. (I'm not suggesting getting Outlaw and Morrow is better than getting Lebron. I'm just saying there were a lot of holes to fill.) By spreading out their cap space, they're going to get a few guys who can play and are quietly putting together a solid core of players around Brook Lopez and Devin Harris. A nice little signing here that will go unnoticed until Morrow starts raining 3s.
