With Amare Stoudemire headed to New York, the Phoenix Suns looked to begin the process of filling a hole at power forward by signing Hakim Warrick (number 60 on the Big Board) to a 4 year, $16 million deal. Warrick is now with his fourth team in one year and his career has been a bit up and down of late. I’m a believer in Warrick and what he can do when given the right opportunity. He’s a very versatile player who can guard some small forwards as well as centers and loves to run the break. He’s a guy who could really excel in the Phoenix system and if he can develop a consistent jumper, this signing will look great. If he doesn’t progress, however, this move will look silly coming right on the heels of Amare leaving.
