Being that it's now the cool thing to do, Mike Miller (number 13 on the Big Board) has joined Lebron and Bosh and will be heading to Miami with a 5 year, $25 million contract. This is the first of many, many signings by the Heat to fill out the bench. I have two thoughts on this. 1.) I've never understood the obsession people around this league seem to have with Mike Miller. He's a very nice player that I would love to have on my team, for sure. But he's a 6th man type of guy, not the potential All-Star everyone makes him out to be. In a role, he's fine, but as a top 3 or 4 player on your roster, no. 2.) All that said, this is a steal for Miami. With the exception of playing time (which I'm not sure how he gets any), this is a great fit for Miller. He can absolutely feed off of Lebron and Wade and at the same time provide them some protection in terms of making it difficult for other teams to help on Lebron/Wade. The Heat got a tremendous steal here considering how much they're paying. There is reason to suggest that Miller could have gotten double this amount from New York or another team like them. I'm not sure this whole Super Friends thing is going to work out or how easily they'll be able to fill out the roster, but this is a heck of a start.
